Hooyman Pole Saw Review

Regardless of what you’re doing, whether you’re cleaning up your backyard, setting up a tree stand for hunting, or even simply maintaining your favorite walking trails, surely you can think of times when you could use a pole saw.

The only problem is, your current pole saw is at home because it requires power to run …or it’s simply nonexistent. If you’re currently on the market for a new pole saw (one that has a battery with extended battery life), out of all the products currently on the market, I encourage you to take a look at the one product that really stands out from the crowd – the Hooyman pole saw.

I actually stumbled across this pole saw during my search for something I could use to trim trees from around my deer stand and after reading many reviews on this particular one, I decided that it was time to tell my readers about it.

40V Lithium Battery

When looking at my products, I like to really study the features (along with reading the reviews) and one of the features that really stood out from the crowd for me was the lithium battery. The Hooyman 40V Lithium cordless pole saw is a great saw to take along with you while hiking – if a tree gets in your way, you can easily trim it – it will make things easier while in the woods hunting, on the trails, or in your backyard. It’s a great tool to use to clear brush, trim trees and prep your hunting stand just in time for hunting season.

Battery Life

The battery life on the Hooyman pole saw is very good – this is something that I also learned from reading the different reviews. I have seen reports, where individuals used the Hooyman pole, saw for 3 hours a day for 9 days in a row and it never ran out of battery while using it (this is something I like hearing).

When the battery runs low in the Hooyman, all you have to do is put it on charge – it should charge fully within 60 minutes – that means within 60 minutes it will be time to start trimming again.

Auto Oiler – The Hooyman has an auto oiler, which will definitely come in handy. Before I purchase equipment like pole saws, and chainsaws, along with making sure the product has great ratings, I also like to make sure it has an auto oiler. I’m not lazy, but I don’t like having to stop just to put oil on my equipment.

With the auto oiler, you won’t have to worry about messing up your products because you forgot to stop in mid-cut to make sure it is being properly oiled. This will save you time, so you can cut through those limbs without hassle.

in-Line Chain Saw – The in-line 8-inch chain saw will make cutting through those large limbs and trimming super easy.

Ergonomic – The handle is ergonomic, making it comfortable for you to use while trimming with the saw.

Compact Design – This saw is capable of collapsing down to 48 inches in length, making it easy for you to store when you’re done using it (many other reviews talk about this). in addition, it even comes with a carry bag that you cans tore the cordless saw in.

Lithium Battery – Per charge, you will be able to use the cordless pole saw for about 70 minutes, which is a decent amount of time.

Highly Portable – This cordless pole saw is highly portable. To make it even easier to carry, it only weighs 10 pounds. For me, this makes the Hooyman the perfect pole saw to take to the woods with me while I’m hunting.

There are times when I’m shooting near my tree stand, limbs get in my way, so I have to find a spot that is clear of all those limbs. However, since I got the Hooyman pole saw, I can now simply cut those limbs back, giving me a clear view of the target I’m shooting.

Maximum Reach – When you have all 3 sections attached to the Hooyman pole saw, it is capable of extending up to 10 feet, which will give you an additional 16 feet of reach (many reviews I have read talked about how this makes trimming limbs easy).

You can actually purchase an additional pole section, which is sold separately and will make it so that the pole can extend up to a whopping 20 feet.

What I Like about the Hooyman Pole Saw

There are many things I like about the pole saw, but the fact that it is capable of extending to approximately 16 feet is a real winner to me. Once you have finished trimming those limbs with the Hooyman, all you have to do is collapse it and store it in the bag that comes with it – you can even transport it on an ATV straight to your tree stand to clear away those tiny trees, making for a better shooting angle.

Conclusion

You can go ahead and search for other saws out there (there are so many different products), but chances are, you’re not going to find one quite like the Hooyman. The Hooyman is easy to carry, makes cutting trees fun and according to reviews, the battery isn’t going to run down minutes after using it.
